Fritz Michel
With his French background, ear for accents, and off-beat sense of humor, Fritz plays European doctors, sophisticated finance guys, officious architects, a sophisticated S&M dungeon master, and, once, a carnivorous British lunatic. After graduating from Yale with a history degree, he began his career in the flourishing downtown theater and indie film scene of late 90s New York. Fritz then spent most of this century’s first decade in Los Angeles. He landed film roles in Syriana, Angels and Demons, and Great Expectations, all helmed by Oscar-winning directors. Fritz also appeared in episodes of hit television series like ER (NBC) and Alias (ABC).
Since moving back to NYC, Fritz acts and directs regularly at the Theater Workshop of Nantucket working with such notables as Emmy-award winning actor John Shea and Johanna McKeon, associate director of Green Day’s Broadway smash American Idiot. Fritz also collaborated closely with playwright Oren Safdie on World, NYC, and West Coast premieres of Safdie’s trilogy of plays about architecture: Private Jokes, Public Places, The Bilbao Effect, and False Solution and many other of Safdie’s plays.
